Godly Discipline
Deuteronomy 34:4 and 10
“Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.””
“Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,”
Moses was a great prophet and the only one that spoke with God face to face. Yet even he was not allowed to enter the Promise Land due to disobedience. No matter how good we are or how much we think we’ve done for God, we all fall short at times. Disobedience results in discipline. God disciplines because he cares. Would a parent not discipline a child when they’ve done wrong. Does that mean they don’t love them? If He didn’t discipline us for our wrong doing we would do whatever we wanted. God disciplined Moses severely but still called him His friend. When you experience the sting of God’s discipline, don’t turn away from Him in anger, embarrassment or resentment. Instead do as Moses did and turn towards God with love and a desire to do better. Trust in the Lord because He has your best interest at heart.
Be Blessed
